Dr Edward Howell is a Lecturer in Politics at New College, University of Oxford. His research concerns the international relations and security of East Asia, focusing on the Korean Peninsula and the DPRK’s foreign relations. His book, North Korea and the Global Nuclear Order: When Bad Behaviour Pays, will be published by Oxford University Press in 2023. Edward is a Contributing Writer for The Economist Intelligence Unit, and offers analysis for national and international media. He has been an Emerging Leaders Fellow of the Ministry of Unification, South Korea, and is a Korea Foundation-Next Generation Policy Fellow at Chatham House, London.
