Roland Freudenstein grew up in West Germany during the Cold War, served in the German Bundeswehr for 2 years and studied political science, economics, Japan studies and international relations in Bonn and Los Angeles. He has worked in public administration, think tanks and civil society building, notably as director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Warsaw in the second half of the 1990s and after 2008 for 13 years as Policy Director in the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in Brussels. Since 2021, he is Vice President of GLOBSEC and Head of GLOBSEC Brussels.
