Efter brexit och Donald Trumps seger i det amerikanska presidentvalet är det frågan om Frankrike, som väljer president om fem månader, står på tur att chocka världen. Högerns primärval bjöd på en första överraskning med en stor seger för François Fillon, tidigare premiärminister. Fillon representerar en katolsk höger som kombinerar socialkonservatism och nyliberalism i Margaret Thatchers anda.
