March 20, 2024: Jagannath Panda, Head of the Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, was quoted in the South China Morning Post on the Philippines’ ties with Australia being ‘stronger than ever’.
Jagannath Panda explains that “A closer strategic contact with Australia does help the Philippines to strengthen its contacts with the Anglosphere issues. Given the current strategic difficulty the Philippines faces from the PLAN adventure in the region, solidifying strategic contacts with Australia does help Manila to gather and share enough timely information on China’s maritime activities.”
